New bike jump at Ferndown’s Ford Lane

A new dirt jump project has now been opened for BMX bikers at Ford Lane Recreation Ground, Ferndown. This new development sees tracks suitable for all ages and abilities. Ferndown Town Council, working in partnership with East Dorset District Council’s Countryside Management Service, have implemented the project and have continued to enlist the help of the community to help design and develop the area for optimum results.

Queen Elizabeth School achieve great results

Queen Elizabeth’s School Sixth Form students have achieved a set of excellent results once again this year. The overall pass rate was 98%, with a record 43% of these grades being at A*/B and 70% at A*-C. Deputy Head teacher Tim Farrer said: ‘This reflects the hard work, commitment and dedication of our students and staff and we are really pleased’

Alleged assault in Sturminster Newton – Appeal

Police in Sturminster Newton are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward after a woman was allegedly assaulted in the town.

The incident happened between 12.45pm and 1pm on Sunday 11 August 2013 in the area of Barnes Close, the Railway Gardens and near to the Factory Shop car park.
