Mystery surrounds an accident in which a cyclist in his 40s sustained injuries after coming off his bike on Oakley Hill, shortly before the bridge over the River Stour heading toward Wimborne.
Dorset Police received a report about the incident at around 3.15pm on Sunday 6 June.
The cyclist was taken to hospital with a suspected head injury and also suffered facial injuries and broken ribs. He has subsequently been discharged from hospital.
Police Constable Tracey Downer, of the traffic unit, said: “Unfortunately the cyclist has little recollection of the incident and how he came to sustain his injuries so we are carrying out enquiries to establish the circumstances.
“I would urge anyone who witnessed the incident and has not already spoken to police to please contact us. I would also ask that anyone who was driving in the area at the time and has dashcam fitted to their vehicle to please check their footage for anything relevant.”
