Fundraisers saddle up to fund lifesaving heart equipment

More than 130 medical staff, patients and keen cyclists have raised over £5,000 for heart equipment at Bournemouth Hospital Charity’s cycling event Pedal Power.
The money will go towards an electrocardiograph (ECG) machine for the Royal Bournemouth Hospital’s Heart Unit. ECG machines play an essential role in the diagnosis and treatment of heart disease and around 50,000 ECGs are carried out in the Heart Unit each year.

A man who drove his National Express coach into the back of a police car which had stopped to help another motorist has been disqualified from driving for 12 months.
