Local organisations providing services for children and young people aged up to 18 – up to 25 for those with SEND or care leavers – can apply for funding of up to £10,000.
The BCP Youth Fund is overseen by an application panel of young people for initiatives which will make a tangible difference, providing new experiences to local young people. The groups could include youth clubs, schools, social groups, companies that specialise in services for young people.
Organisations which are not sure if they are eligible are urged to get in touch with the BCP Youth Fund.
The aim of the funding initiative is to help the youth-led BCP Youth Forum achieve their core aim of providing young people the chance to have access to skills, resources and opportunities to give back to society.
The closing date for applications is 24 September and the proposed project will need to be ready to run from October 2021. Successful applicants will be able to showcase the success of their project at a special event in March 2022.
Cllr Mike White portfolio holder for children and young people said: “This is a fund to benefit young people, managed by young people. It is a very exciting project which will help improve the lives of many young people in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole. I am proud to support the BCP Youth Fund and would encourage local organisations which work with young people and have a project they would like to launch to apply as soon as possible. If you are successful in your application, you will be changing the lives of many young people.”
Nathan, member of Youth Parliament said: “We are very grateful for the opportunity to directly benefit young people with this amazing project and look forward to seeing the applications.”
