Verwood Rotary’s Rustic Fayre is back for another great day this Bank Holiday Monday.
The event goes from strength to strength and has raised many thousands of pounds for deserving local causes.

A night at the movies

The Ringwood and Burley Band’s annual concert and major fundraising event is ‘A Night at the Movies II’ at the Barrington Theatre in Ferndown and follows on from last year’s sell-out success.
Taking place on Saturday, 13 September, it will appeal to young and old and includes music from Jurassic Park, Skyfall, The King and I, Four Weddings and a Funeral, High Society, The Glen Miller Story, Top Hat and Saturday Night Fever.

Two jailed

Two Bournemouth men were jailed for attempted robbery after appearing at Bournemouth Crown Court on 15 August.
One of the men was also sentenced to imprisonment for another offence of robbery earlier the same day.

Brew Up for Dementia’ campaign funds kits for wards

Bournemouth Hospital Charity’s first ‘Brew Up for Dementia’ campaign has raised over £3,500 which will be used to buy 10 Therapeutic Intervention Kits to benefit patients with dementia. The kits include a portable music player with calming music that helps patients relax, reminiscence folders and rummage bags which can help distract and interest dementia patients.…
